Education
After secondary school I had two options towards becoming an architect: TU Delft or TU Eindhoven. The programme in Delft has a strong focus on design and the creative process. In Eindhoven the programme is more technical, with several subjects in other building disciplines.
I chose Eindhoven, where I completed the bachelor’s in Building Engineering and subsequently the master’s in Architecture, Building and Planning. With the (technical) knowledge I gained, I can create realistic and buildable designs.
While working at Quadrant4 architects I completed the Professional Experience Programme (PEP), after which I was officially registered in the Dutch Architects’ Register.
Over the years I developed a strong interest in sustainable design and biobased building. In my spare time I deepen my knowledge of these fields further, hoping to apply it in future designs.
Experience
After my studies I started my career at Quadrant4 architects in Oisterwijk (now part of Movares), where I worked for more than five years. There I learned how important it is to gather as much information as possible at the start of a process. That leads to a complete and well-considered design.
I currently work as a permit case manager at the municipality of Geldrop-Mierlo. In that role I sit on the other side of the table from an architect: I receive permit applications and assess them against the rules and regulations, rather than applying for a permit myself. The knowledge and experience I gain in this work is extremely valuable when researching the puzzle pieces.
