Rotterdam Logistics Park buildings A and D

Project during my time at Quadrant4. Design brief for two logistics buildings as part of a larger development.

The logistics development in Hellevoetsluis consists of four buildings: A, B, C and D. Buildings B and C stand back to back; building A is their sister in terms of design. Building D is positioned along the Voornse Canal and is recognisable by its stepped form. The entire development was designed by Quadrant4.

The required office area for building A was considerably smaller than for buildings B and C. The minimum office height required by the zoning plan remained the same, however. We resolved this by designing a false facade with a green infill. That infill wraps around the office onto the side elevation of the logistics volume and in that way creates a physical connection between both functions.

Scope of work

My work focused on developing buildings A and D. From the schematic design (SO) through to the permit application I was the contact person for design questions. I also coordinated the modelling and drawing work and joined the design meetings.
